The moment I start writing like a robot,  you will stop visiting this blog.

Everyone can be a blogger but not everyone can blog.

I so much love your desire to open a blog today, tomorrow, next week, next month, next year. but will your blog be worth reading?

Are you going to write like a newscaster or like a teacher?

if you are gonna write like a newscaster, I am sorry only few people love news but if you are gonna be a teacher, congrats! be a good one because people want to learn from you.

Buddy, let's analyze what it takes to blog like a teacher.

As you are reading this blog, if I don't sound like a teacher, please do reach out and tell me to unpublish this post.

1.  Too much promotion in your blog:

Look at this story.

Once upon a time, in a faraway land, lived a good friend of mine who really wanted to make money online, he saw blogging as the easiest way because he don't need large number of followers to get paid, all he needed was a good article rich in SEO that will land him organic views of 3k - 5k in a day.

His name is Henry, but he didn't blog that long because he focused more on promotion instead of the content. he was not there to give value but to sell to his readers.

His blog became a full e-commerce store rather and he got the poor traffic an e-commerce store used to have because his audience became sick of the promotions.

Example: "5 ways to cure malaria", blah blah blah and then it ends with "visit the link if you want to say a final goodbye to malaria"

Which means, his Articles only gave the temporal remedies while he monetized the permanent remedy.

I am so sorry for Henry, don't do what he did, let your promotion be moderate, more articles, less promotion and I tell you most solemnly, you will appreciate the result.

2. Too many grammatical errors and mistakes.

Stephanie, a first class student in English Language was too lazy to proofread her articles before she clicks the publish button.

The grammatical errors were much and most of the message she passed was misinterpreted until her blog got flagged.

Before you publish, there are processes.

Proofread, Correct, Analyze, Show your friends before showing the public.

An article that goes through these processes is called a refined article.

3. Poor headline and captions.

Creating headlines is not easy for me too, I can write the best of Articles but it takes me hours to think of a headline that suits what I have written.

if you have this challenge, you are not alone.

But I started improving when I knew that curiosity is the power of a good headline.

No one will read your news, stories, articles and mails if they are not moved by the first thing they see.

Curiosity has only one question in common.

"How is that possible?"

If your headline can trigger this kind of question in your reader's mind, their next step is to satisfy their curiosity.

"Hey, let me go check this out"

So learn not to write common headlines like the ones you skip when you see. The ones that gives you no interest or appetite.

4. Failure to fix broken links and comment section.

Some people deliberately remove comments from their blog because of too many negative feedback they get.

Please do not be afraid of negative feedbacks, successful people use this feedbacks to their advantage which helps them to know their errors and how to fix it.

I so much jealous phoenix blog this day because, their writers are not moved with the number of insults they get from their fake news everyday yet people still enjoy their stories while they get multiplied traffic.

Negative comments should not scare you but it will help your blog look more transparent and help people feel secure about you for not hiding anything.

Always try to fix broken links, when people read your article, if you refer them to a link that does not work, it reduces their reading zeal by -60%, it would prompt them to look for sources elsewhere.

No one has the time to notify you about broken links, so try check them out yourself to ensure that they are working.

It becomes a big task if you place so much promotional links on your blog, that's why I rarely input links, I rather tell you to contact me directly for whatever information I want to give you outside my blog than to put links that will stop working in matter of some days.

Big Tip here: If you are wise enough, you can take advantage of this broken links on people's blog.

search for links that are no longer working, contact the blog admin and ask for a swap if the article relates to your product.

5. Using just one headline for your blog.

If you are putting just one single heading, then stop it now.

your blog have to be divided into subtopics. New ideas, new interest for your readers.

Your blog should have a good structure in a way that your paragraph should not be so long, your font should have some good styling well spaced out.

Caption in between paragraphs and images as well which relates to what you said in a particular paragraph.

I also hype the idea of gifs, using images in motion, but if it slows down your blog, leave it.

6. Not updating your statistics.

I am too busy to do this so I will be a great offender here but if you are a full time blogger, the examples you used in the year 2001 may not be the trending senerio in 2024, so why is it still on your blog?

Your blog is a place informations are kept, irrespective of when you published your article, it can be read anytime.

Even the unborn babies will read your blog, so therefore you are not writing for the present alone but the future.

Sorry to say this but know that some of these blog owners may be dead or old or something else happened to them which makes their blog outdated.

That's why when most Freelancers complain to me that they don't get replies on their website pitches, I will jokingly ask them;

"have you verified if they are alive?"

You could be pitching a dead person unknowingly.

Summary:

Blogging is a cool thing to do, the rewards are countless if you are bent on giving out the value in an interesting way.

Shallom ✊.
