John Oseni, a 16-year-old web developer from Nigeria, recently made headlines for being offered a job by an Italian company. In an interview with ALEXANDER OKERE, Oseni delves into his background and achievements. He shares that he hails from Yewa North in Ogun State, the fourth child in his family, with a father who is a Biochemistry professor and a retired civil servant mother. Oseni completed his secondary education at Command Day Secondary School in Akure, where he was part of the technology department.

Currently, Oseni is deeply immersed in programming, having already worked with 16 to 17 startups. Moreover, he's passionately working towards launching his own company, envisioning a future powered by nature. Although the company is yet to be registered, Oseni already has a dedicated team spread across the United States, Canada, and Nigeria, conducting research with the assistance of his lawyer.

Regarding his recent job offers from Italian companies Flywallet and Cryptonite, Oseni explains that most of his job opportunities stem from referrals due to his lack of formal programming certification. Despite this, he's now leading the blockchain team for both companies. However, he opted to work remotely for them due to prior commitments, including an appointment with the Ooni of Ife.

Reflecting on his journey into programming, Oseni shares his experience at Green Garage in Akure, where he taught himself coding after winning a competition. He describes how he tirelessly pursued his passion, even waking up at 7 am to clean the training center in exchange for learning opportunities. This dedication eventually led him to delve deeper into blockchain technology and gain referrals.

Although Oseni began coding full-time in 2021, he has already amassed considerable earnings, primarily in cryptocurrency. He expresses his intention to pursue further education through online programs while continuing to work. Despite his financial success, Oseni emphasizes his commitment to learning and advancing in the field of computer engineering, aiming to earn a PhD eventually.
